Crush and mix me up
Got my ntu acceptance letter. Still there's this constant doubt that bugs me at the back of my mind - of whether it was the right choice. Because things are gonna be so much different, perhaps even tough. And I'm no tough girl. I'm just a girl with a penchant for taking the easy way out. I'm just a girl whose whims and fancies are in perpetual flux. I'm just a girl with a fear of cockroaches. And yet this scares me more.

Finally! After much procrastination, the pic from the comic book Hikaru No Go is done. Yea..the princess laughed at me for indulging in such "kiddy" stuff. But who cares? It's my way of de-stressing. Besides, I don't think I'll ever grow out of it :)

And I'm starting to question my affinity with slippers too. The damn slipper strap broke on the way home yesterday. I swear I become a hundred times more likely to fall on my fat ass with slippers on a rainy day. Fortunately, I managed to hobble my way home with a rubber band tying my feet to the slipper. It was a damn awful sight.

Suprisingly, today turned out to be a good day. After days of sheer crappiness and boredom at work, the website is finally starting to look good (just hope the boss thinks so too). And the score's 1-0 to Arsenal. Besides, it's LOST day:)

It's Good Friday today.
But, well, ya know, Fridays to me are always good. Haha. So, I went to make some baked pasta today. Yeah, yeah, I'm turning into a housewife. Actually, I've always been a reluctant one during the school hols because both my mom and dad are working and I have to cook for my pesky bro. But sometimes cooking, minus the washing up bit, can be quite fun. And, well, it's an art too, i guess. There's always this art of estimation.
"Put a little oil."
"How much is a lil?"
"Just agar agar, enough for the food."
"Liddat is it?"
"About one tablespoon."
"Liddat can not?"
Scientific people can just die lor. The art of cooking collides head-on with the precison of science.

Yesterday was a bad bad thursday because my fear/hatred for cockroaches went up a notch. Honestly, it's like they have this thing against me. The LOST tv show viewing was disrupted midway by this big fat cockroach. Bleah! Suddenly, I have this huge admiration for lee yee. At least she dares to throw something at that THING. I'm like "just get that thing as far away from me as possible!". I don't even wanna touch the tied-up plastic bag with that damn cockroach innit. Ugh. Cockroaches scurrying in the rubbish chute, in my kitchen, apparently, in my room too, cockroach corpses lying about, a dream of getting chased by one..How bad can it get.

The phone's back from repair.
But the damn memory cards are still a lil kooky. I think I've corrupted both my dad's and my own. Argh! Guess I'll have to live with my 64mb memory card now with only 12 miserable songs. I'm seriously contemplating getting the ipod nano. The only thing in my way is the $ issue. Anyway, I just discovered this real cool website which plays radio stations. Ah, the cool part is there's no idiotic dj crapping and no annoying ads, just music you would most probably like to hear. And they play Jap songs too. Just google last.fm to find the site.
Other stuff I've been up to:
- Watched Ice Age 2. Didn't watch the first one because I was kinda skeptical. Turns out, this was hilarious.
- Went back to Shop n Save (not specially) and saw the cashier that loved to call me mei mei.
- Finished watching Jewel in the Palace. I'm so happy:)
- Read Tuesdays with Morrie Julz lent me which moved me to tears
- Watched Superband. How come got so many sucky bands one ah? My advice to wannabe girl/boybands with no musical talent, please look in the mirror first, then join can?
- Borrowed another book, The Society of Others. Yes, I've been reading a lil more than usual. And here's a quote from it:

Life is hard and then you die.

Haha. Sorry if this ruins your day, but fret not because thursday's coming. Hopefully, I'll be doing something productive at work by then because doing nothing is actually tiring.

This has nothing to do with politics.
Neither is this da lightning logo of a certain political party, as I've said the post is devoid of any political content. This is da muted thunder logo of the PSP. No, not the game console. It is the People Silenced Party, a party that seeks to rid our island of noise. (Disclaimer: The PSP is not official organization). Noise, as stipulated by the party, refers to all unwanted and redundant messages that are conveyed through any medium, be it podcasts or blogs. The PSP is concerned about your sound-fare, that's the reason why we have decided to set up a new ministry, the MONS or the Ministry of No Sound. Yes, this ministry will deal solely with such issues we find our island people are deeply concerned with, like the music blasting in music shops and the high noise levels in shopping centres. Though this is only the first step, the good news is, there'll be more changes to come. So, shut up for now;)

Taking the public transport during peak periods is starting to irk me. Today, on the train home, 2 old folks were practically shouting into my ears. Then, some more got free shower one. Ugh, please spare me the agony can.
Today, the damn com in the office auto-restarted (if there's such a word) again. Ugh! That's why I really felt like murdering the com. Yes, if the com was alive. If only...I think I have an abusive streak. Fortunately, it only applies to non-living things. I think...

(any title here)
Ever since I started this job, the days just seem to whizz by. Weekends come and go and days at work pass by in a flash when I'm busy meeting deadlines. Even more so when I've been watching the jewel in the palace vcds everyday. But I guess I'll be unable to know the ending of the show soon because the last disc is spoilt..argh!
Anyway, I've finally finished reading Sophie's World. Yes, it took me a damn long time. I guess I got a lil lazy midway through. Well, I think this is the nicest book I've ever read. At least it's the only book I'll like to read every single word over and over again. Can't figure out why, but I really liked the phrase :
"Everything we can see in the sky is a cosmic fossil from thousands and millions of years ago. The only thing an astrologer can do is predict the past."
A point to note, a strange thing happened to me yesterday. After reading the part about psychoanalysis ('bout the human mind, dreams and stuff like that), that night I dreamt. And I woke up today recalling this scene in the dream. Kinda from somewhere in jewel in the palace, kinda philosophical...just this scene, can't recall any words and it left me in a state of confusion.
