cadbury..mmm
28 June 2006, Wednesday.
I look in the mirror, only to find myself staring at a pig. I need to get myself started on an exercise regime from hell.
Anyway, here's something real crappy, literally. Cadbury chocolates were found to be containing salmonella (yes, salmonella's the stuff that gives you the runs or diarrhea). It makes those cadbury ads that goes like this "Wouldn't it be nice if the world was cadbury..." sound real creepy. And I'm left wondering...if the world was made of salmonella-infested cadbury and if you ate the chocolate, would your diarrhea be made of cadbury too? I apologize if you're having your meal right now, but this is a crappy blog after all (though I'm having a blogger's constipation right now).

ntu. bleah.
Damn ntu! The administrative matters are killing me. Slow, inefficient and error-prone. Deadlines get mixed up and there's seemingly a lack of instructions on how we should go about doing this entire thing. This alone provides a bloody good enough reason why nus looks supposedly the better choice. Anyways, I'm counting the reasons why anyone should choose ntu(apart from the most common reason that their accounting course is more established) and how they should go about advertising next year to beat the aggressive marketing from nus and smu. So according to moi's expert opinion, they should adopt the nus business ad, with the 2 brothers in them. Here's what they would be saying during the ad:
Younger bro: Hey kor, so your results are good enough to get you into any U?
Older bro: *deadpans* Yar... ...
Younger bro: Even the ones that are far, far, very far, extremely far away?
Older bro: YAR... ...
Younger bro: So ah, where you going?
Older bro: *points to singapore on the globe*
Younger bro: That's not very far what.
Older bro: Oi, I'm going to ntu leh. ntu very far compared to nus and smu lor.
Ntu (insert any school name here) School. Preferred by anyone who wants to get as far away from their family as possible but can't afford to go overseas.
That's why I'm gonna have to stay in the hostel. I need to bug the admin people about the hostel application fee.
Okay, 2 more weeks to my freedom. The ntu intern got hers on friday. I need to find something exciting to do next month. Maybe I'll finally get down to learning the guitar or learn how to roller-skate.

Smile
I'm a happy girl. *smile* Here's why. Friends, my t-shirt and the world cup. Company with good friends is always a pleasant thing. Friday was real awesome. I finally stepped into the arcade since...1999. And Sunday was just as good. Love the latest Cars movie. And my threadless t-shirt finally arrived on friday. Yay! Most importantly, the World Cup's started. Australia's my latest fav underdogs. The match yesterday against Japan was plain hilarious la. Still, Brazil's the best. And we finally got cable tv just to watch the World Cup. *smile* Yes. I'm easily satisfied.

Boredom kills
Here's a scary thought:
18 going on 19 with no idea of what to do with the rest of my life.

But here's how I'm passing my time now. I read The Kite Runner by this Afghanistan writer. It's good, really good. It made me tear towards the end. Haunted by what he did or what he didn't do to be accurate, this guy spends the next 20 plus years of his life battling his own demons, until circumstances present a chance for redemption. Then he spends the rest of his entire life, probably redeeming himself. I can identify with that.

Follow these steps to kill boredom:
1. Take a piece of scrap paper. (There's lots to choose from on my desk.)
2. Grab a pen.
3. Put pen on paper.
4. Create a bunch of doodles. e.g. -->
5. Daydream.

So, I'm counting down the days to the end of my job. And I watched X Men 3:)

Okay, here's a thought to consider:
How do you stay pissed at someone who apparantly doesn't even care? Hmm..maybe I'll try that on someone who's pissed at me the next time.

Singpore idol
After an extremely long period of deliberation/hesitation/procrastination, I finally willed myself to click the Submit button. Yeah, they sent me the letter dinosaur years ago and even called to remind me last week, but I waited till now to accept my place in ntu. Yup, I'm going to ntu! To wreck havoc. Like real.
Okay Okay, back to serious stuff. Singapore Idol's back and I caught the Pee-ah-no show last night. It's damn funny. There's the twohill guy whose "hair was consuming his head". I quote that from my bro. Then Ja tried to get her hair to consume her own head too. And I don't get why Ken said that one contestant had no voice, no looks, no style...If he's that sucky, then why is he here in the first place? Ah..unless the rest are worse. Seriously, it's like this whole idol thing is a long, drawn-out swearing-in ceremony for that Jonathan guy to step onto the idol throne. Singapore Idol is truly reflective of Singapore politics or vice versa. There's this huge brouhaha over the entire process when we all know it's a Goliath versus a bunch of Davids or even William Hungs contest. We beat around this artificial bush when we know exactly what is gonna happen in the end. I think it's just the Singaporean kaypo mentality that's keeping my glued. Anyway, something even funnier. The Superband forums. The stuff people post about Summerbreeze (the sucky band that never gets booted off because of their damn rich fans) is hilarious. I have nothing better to do.
